What:Virtual Reality and How it Impacts Outcomes by Matt Keddington PTA

Why: Virtual reality is becoming more and more valuable in promoting functional recovery. Incorporating this technology into rehabilitation care can help turn routine walking down the hall into an activity that stimulates and engages impacted areas of the brain.

Contact Hours Requirements: Attendance at entire learning activity and participation in role play/simulation with successful return demonstration of communication and relationship building techniques for 1.5 contact hours

Learning Outcome: As a result of participating in this activity, the learner will be able to discuss:

  • Current status of the evidence regarding use of virtual reality in promoting functional recovery.

  • Virtual reality tools available for therapeutic intervention.

  • How it feels to participate in a virtual reality session.

Rehab ClassWorks, LLC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Western Multi-State Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Live Certification Review Course

Rehab ClassWorks, LLC will be hosting a live Certification Review for Rehabilitation Nurses course this fall. The course requires 24 hours of class time, utilization of the multimedia Certification Review for Rehabilitation Nurses course, and email exchange. Participants earn a cumulative 66.5 contact hours for successful participation in the course and passing of the course’s test.
